We will be away from the farm until March, but please feel free to email us for any reason at: sowingcirclefarm@gmail.com
We will get back to you as soon as we can, and don’t worry the animals are in good hands.
Thank you Justin, Caitlin, Ben, Matt, and Jared!

Thank you Parr Lumber for selling us 30 cedar fence posts at cost!!!
And once again thank you Volvo wagon for secretly being a truck.
-
Remember those cute little brown ducklings? Well, one turned out to be an aggressive male mallard who caused stress in our yard among people and animals alike. On Sunday Caitlin took one for the team and humanely put us all out of our misery.
Apparently he was quite tasty too.

That’s all.

I posted this a while back but then it disappeared…..

Anyone want to go in on a ton of organic alfalfa? We can have it delivered and pay way less than the per bale prices at the feed stores. Just sayin.

Tomorrow we get to pick up the plants and I will post pictures….
In the meantime check out www.onegreenworld.com for all of your edible perennial needs and wants!!

Dear Portland,
We have a problem.
In order to keep honeybees in this city you must obtain a permit.
Fine.
In order to obtain a permit you must get the signature of every neighbor within 150 feet of your property stating that you have their permission to keep bees on your property.
Not fine.
If one neighbor says no, you are out of luck. You can then be fined for keeping honeybees on your property, even though native pollinators exist all over this earth, country, state and city that can also sting and cause allergic reactions.
Two months ago the hive pictured above was considered to be “unkempt” by Vector Control and was ordered to be removed due to “public outcry”. In this specific case public outcry translates to one neighbor (who had already given her written permission for the hive to be in our friend’s yard) simply changing her mind and calling Vector Control.
We need bees and this policy is counter productive.
It makes sense to notify your neighbors of a hive in case of allergies, but that is where your responsibility to them should end.
We will fix this.
Love,
Sowing Circle Farm

Thank you for coming to our workshop!
It was lovely to meet you all and the goats were sad when you left.
We will be posting more workshops later this week and in the meantime feel free to contact us with any questions at sowingcirclefarm@gmail.com
