Family road trips
The yard at Future Farm is not ready for animals. Poisonous plants and random sharp objects litter the yard, and there is no barn, pond, or stable fencing. For all of these reasons the animals have been living elsewhere since October.
During the holidays some of their caretakers were away visiting family so the animals were shuffled back and forth between their old home and a temporary...

Hope you like it, we made it!
I would list all of the amazing things we are making right now for our friends and family members, but I am pretty sure that those same people are the only ones who will read this. So you’ll have to just wait and see.

You don’t need to be this specific.
All of the resources you need are free and abundant if you live in a city. There are coffee shops EVERYWHERE that are happy to give you bucket loads of coffee grounds (nitrogen). Cardboard (carbon) is also all over the place, especially behind grocery stores or in your neighbors recycling bins. Bags of leaves (mulch) are being placed on the curb free...
chores
Today we spent most of the day gathering pieces of wood stove piping and accessories so that tomorrow we can poke a hole in the roof of our Airstream and heat it with wood for the rest of the winter.
Then we all wandered around the field for a while trying to decide on the best place to put the barn.
The goats, ducks and turkey blankly watch us coming and going.

Cleaning, sewing, drawing, writing…. I just want to go to the movies.

Yesterday: Goat milking and chimney sweeping on Sumner St, cleaning up after people to get ready for the new tenants at future farm, meeting with grant making organizations, illustrating a childrens book, lunch with dear friends, nap, grant writing and a little bit of sewing….
