Lots of changes have occurred since we last saw each other….
All of a sudden we have 19 animals, seven of which are ridiculously cute goat kids. Let us know (sowingcirclefarm@gmail.com) if you want one and we will give you details. Also, we are starting a goat milking co-op, if you are interested feel free to get in touch.
We sold the Volvo and are on the lookout for a “real” truck. In the off chance you want to donate one to our tiny farm we can offer you the tax deduction of your asking price. Just sayin.
The yard is starting to look intentional!
Justin, our favorite intern, is on his way to chicago in order to Occupy. Yeah!!!
I guess that’s pretty much it.

Remember those cute little brown ducklings? Well, one turned out to be an aggressive male mallard who caused stress in our yard among people and animals alike. On Sunday Caitlin took one for the team and humanely put us all out of our misery.
Apparently he was quite tasty too.

Anyone want to go in on a ton of organic alfalfa? We can have it delivered and pay way less than the per bale prices at the feed stores. Just sayin.
We are a tiny urban farm located in NE Portland, Oregon. We have recently moved our goats, ducks and turkey from the front yard of our small city lot to a much larger space, nearby. We are in the process of clearing laurel and ivy from our new barnyard in order to make way for a demonstration food forest and annual vegetable garden.
We host and teach workshops on self-reliance and urban farming and spend a lot of time answering the questions of passersby. If you have ideas about classes that you want to take or teach please let us know. Or if you just want to hold a baby goat we can help with that too.
